This past April found me traveling to San Antonio, Texas to visit my friend Richard on sabbatical at the Oblate School of Theology. As we toured the city, we visited the Cathedral de San Fernando, a solid structure erected through the efforts of 15 families from the Canary Islands who arrived as settlers in March, 1731 and laid the cornerstone to the original church in 1738.
This low angle “grab” shot captures the thrust of the twin towers toward the blue Texas sky, anchored by the bubbling fountains in the square facing the cathedral.
